Hobie Kayaks are designed to accept Plug-in carts, but improper cart selection or improper use can damage or deform hulls.

Damage to Scuppers
Cart posts must insert into scuppers completely and reach into the internal seat, floor or cargo area surface. Incomplete insertion can cause damage to scupper tubes. By passing clear through the hull the cart posts are supported by the hull bottom and upper surfaces. Scupper tubes are not heavily loaded. Incomplete insertion causes loads against scupper tubes which may cause scupper tube failure.
Damage to hull bottoms
Kayaks should not be left on carts for long periods as constant pointload pressure against the hull or scuppers can deform hulls.
Polyethylene hull materials distort under constant pressure. Over long periods the material can “creep”. This can cause the hull bottom to permanently deform. Hull bottoms can dent and scuppers can be distorted to the point where they are pushed up into the upper hull surface.
Installation
Slide the bushings onto the cart posts and down closer to the crossbar pad. Newer carts include a spot weld to stop the bushings from sliding too far down. Place the kayak on the ground upside-down or on its side. Slide the cart into the scuppers.
Adjust the bushing position against the bottom of the scuppers at a point that prevents the wheels from contacting the hull and tighten. The cart may contact at the keel and both scuppers on some models. Re-check that the cart posts fit clear through the hull as described above.

** PRO ANGLER SPECIFIC CONCERNS
The pronounced keel and round outer bottoms of a Pro Angler is at additional risk of distortion or damage without the use of cart bushings. Heavier loads could cause clamps to slip, so re-check tyre clearance often.
Remove the kayak from the cart after use. Store the kayak as described in the owners manual.
Do not store a kayak on the cart
Once again, always remove the kayak from the cart after use. Store the kayak as described in the owners manual.

Plug-In carts are not recommended for the Adventure / Tandem Island Series due to its weight.
Upper end of weight limit; do not use cart with personal gear loaded on kayak.
Fold and Stow fits inside roto-molded front hatch only; not compatible with 8" twist and seal hatches.
Due to its size, the Fiesta requires 2 carts.
** CAPACITY NOTES:
Capacity refers to static load only and when used as intended. Capacity overload can occur on different terrain; such as short drops, stairs, ruts, rugged and/or jagged, and uneven surfaces.
PLUG-IN CART WARNING:
Do not overload. Not for towing or for speeds faster than the average walking pace. Not for long hauls or stairs. Check cart fit carefully to be sure tyres do not rub hull on scupper versions that the posts fit clear through to the cockpit. Heavier model kayaks may require sleeves below cart clamps to keep hulls from contacting wheels. Not for prolonged use/storage. Incorrect use can damage or distort hulls.
KAYAK STORAGE WHEN NOT IN USE:
Plug-In carts are not designed for prolonged use/storage. Store in a kayak cradle to prevent damage and distorted hulls. Incorrect storage can damage or distort hulls.
